October 5, 2024 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Saturday, October 5, 10am
Meet at BH&PS HQ, 48 Court St., Bristol
On the afternoon of October 7, 1775, a squadron of British ships, led by Captain James Wallace, left Newport and sailed into Bristol. After firing a salute, the town’s leaders were asked to meet Wallace to discuss British demands. The residents refused. The British then bombarded the town with cannon balls, shells, and carcasses for about an hour and a half. This walking tour explores the sites associated with this important event in the American Revolution.
Tickets may be purchased at the start of the tour and cost $15/$10 for BH&PS members. Visit their website or email info@bhpsri.org for more information.
