Paul R. Murphy

BoRIA Advisor for Merchandising

Paul was born in Boston, Massachusetts.  After graduating from Boston Latin School, he earned bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University, followed by an ROTC commission in the US Air Force in 1987.  He earned pilot wings, and along his career garnered four master’s degrees in National Security, Logistics and Aerospace Management from the Naval War College, Embry Riddle, Air Force Institute of Technology and the Air War College.  

In his thirty-three year AF career, he flew operation missions spanning from Desert Storm thru operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, commanding at the squadron, group and wing levels as a Colonel, while holding several key joint and air staff billets along the way.  His final tour culminated as the senior Air Force officer at the Naval War College.

An original Butts Hill Fort Restoration volunteer, Paul has taken on lead of the Butts Hill Fort Master Planning effort, request for proposals coordination, grant writing, art work, and also BHFRC/BoRIA Merchandise store efforts. He is an Advisor to the BoRIA Board of Directors.  He is a husband, the father of four twenty something college graduates, a Town of Portsmouth polling official, and a member of the Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company of Boston.
