George Krol

George Krol is a retired diplomat, who served 36 years in the U.S. Foreign Service.  His foreign assignments were in Poland, India, Russia, Ukraine and as U.S. Ambassador to Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Domestic assignments included Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central Asian Affairs and Director of the State Department’s Office of Russian Affairs.  

Krol currently teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the U.S. Naval War College.  He lectures and writes frequently on U.S. foreign policy and the states of the former Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact and is an Associate of Harvard University’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Oxford University.  Krol resides in Middletown, Rhode Island.
