BoRIA Commemorative Coin Program

Our Commemorative Coin Series, designed by graphic designer, BHFR volunteer and BoRIA advisor, Maureen Daniels of Portsmouth and made by Signature Coins of Winter Park, Florida. These two-inch coins feature the Battle of Rhode Island logo on the front and unique artwork for each series on the back! The series will continue until the 250th anniversary of the Battle in 2028, be sure to collect them all!

Featuring the BoRIA logo on one side and the Butts Hill Fort Restoration Project logo on the other, designed to raise awareness of the Fort’s importance in the American Revolutionary War.

Our second commemorative coin, designed to promote the Battle of Rhode Island’s 250th anniversary. The coin features the BoRIA logo on the front and the Battle of Rhode Island 250th Anniversary logo on the back, emblazoned with the names of some of Revolutionary Rhode Island’s most famous patriots!

Our third commemorative coin honors the 100 year anniversary of the purchase and preservation of the land Butts Hill Fort sits on by Reverend Dr. Roderick Terry. The coin features BoRIA logo on the front, and the silhouette of the Reverend Dr. reading one of his treasured books on the back.

The fourth and final Battle of Rhode Island Association Commemorative Coin honors Brigadier General James Mitchell Varnum (December 17, 1748 – January 9, 1789) who was was an American legislator, lawyer, general in the Continental Army, and a pioneer to the Ohio Country.
