The Battle of Rhode Island Association (BoRIA) is proud to announce the release of our Commemorative Coin Series. Working with Signature Coins of Winter Haven Florida, the two-inch diameter coins are made of brass with silver plate and enamel paint and features the BoRIA logo on one side and the other side has the Butts Hill Fort Restoration Project logo for this first issue. Future coins will keep the BoRIA logo while the reverse side will feature different artwork. The series will continue until the 250th anniversary of the Battle in 2028. The design was done by BoRIA’s Graphics Advisor Ms. Maureen Daniels. native of Portsmouth, RI, Ms. Daniels grew up near Butts Hill Fort and she is thrilled to be able to raise awareness of the Fort’s importance in the Revolutionary War. She has worked closely with us since our inception.
