The Battle of Rhode Island Association is sharing this on behalf of our partners in the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route (W3R-US). This Route highlights the path that General George Washington and the Comte de Rochambeau took in delivering French troops and supplies to the Yorktown Campaign. The road to Yorktown and freedom started right here in Rhode Island. The General and company were on Aquidneck Island for just a few days and even passed by Butts Hill Fort on their way to Bristol Ferry Crossing.

American Friends of Lafayette

Good afternoon Friends of Lafayette,

The Virginia Society Children of the American Revolution is stepping up BIG for the American Friends of Lafayette (and our comrades at W3R).

This year, the Virginia Society of the Children of the American Revolution is commemorating the key role of France in the American Revolution, especially in Virginia. Without the French forces, the American story would be very different.

This is the official project of the Virginia Society of the Children of the American Revolution and their new president (and AFL member), Nora Stufft.

VSCAR is focusing on two historic parts of this friendship: the 680-mile Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route and the 1824-25 Farewell Tour of General Lafayette. Consequently, the VSCAR will be holding a fundraiser for the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route Association (W3R) and the American Friends of Lafayette (AFL). They will be doing so by selling some unique and fun merchandise which can be purchased by clicking: HERE

The first $2000 raised will fund another set of the AFL’s six educational exhibit panels about Lafayette. We truly appreciate the Virginia Society of the Children of the American Revolution and their efforts to help fund our mission. We are very thankful for this partnership.
